Community guidelines
Last updated July 2026
The planner itself is private and solo. These guidelines are for the shared spaces it invites you into, like the WERQ TOGETHER Signal group.
Everyone here is mid-move
People arrive at different points: some have a date, some have a maybe, some are eight months out and that is a success. Nobody owes the group a timeline, a reason for leaving, or proof that their situation is hard enough.
Protect each other's details
What people share here about where they are, where they are going, their housing, their health, their money, or their legal situation stays here. Do not screenshot, forward, or repeat someone's details anywhere else. Do not post another person's address, workplace, or full name.
Share what worked, not what should have
First-hand experience is the most useful thing in the room: this landlord answered, this clinic took my insurance, this route was cheaper. Offer it as your experience, not as instruction. If you have not done the thing, say so.
No advice you are not qualified to give
Please do not tell someone what will happen to their disability benefits, immigration status, custody case, or lease. Point them to a benefits navigator, a clinic, or a lawyer instead. Getting this wrong can cost someone their income or their kid.
Be decent
No racism, transphobia, transmisogyny, ableism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, fatphobia, whorephobia, or gatekeeping anyone's identity. No pressuring people about their bodies, their transition, or their choices. No recruiting, selling, or fundraising for yourself without asking an organizer first.
Care, not crisis response
This is a planning community, not an emergency service, and the people here are not on call. If you or someone else is in danger, please reach out to a crisis line or emergency services. You are welcome to say you are having a hard time; just know the group cannot be anyone's only support.
Consent before connecting
Ask before adding someone to another group, sharing their contact with an organization, or introducing them to a host or landlord. Someone's move may depend on who does and does not know about it.
If something goes wrong
Tell an organizer. You will not be asked to argue your case in public. We may remove posts or people to keep the space safe, and we would rather do that than leave someone exposed. Email legal@werqt.org if you need to reach us off-channel.
